Participants are provided with a workbook manual which steps them through all processes used in this course.  * Online participants complete a basic task in Timetabling Solutions V10

This course assumes that participants have these skills:

  • Basic understanding of their school's curriculum

Prerequisites

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Outline their curriculum using modern timetabling concepts

  • Describe the process of Timetable construction in their School

  • Understand the various approaches to Blocking, Lines and Grids

  • Understand the principles and processes involved in Timetable construction

  • Comprehensively assess the wants and needs of the whole school community

At Course Completion

This course is designed for those new to timetabling in schools or those who wish to take a more active and informed role in the timetabling process:

  • Learn how modern timetabling theory can be applied to your curriculum

  • Learn the data structures involved in timetabling

  • Learn Timetabling Concepts and terminology

  • Learn techniques to better assess and analyse a school’s needs

  • Learn different Curriculum models

Audience

This course introduces participants to the principles of timetabling and analyses typical curriculum models used in schools. No experience in timetabling is assumed. It is designed as a theory-based course incorporating discussion and a hands-on activity.

This one-day instructor-led course introduces participants to the principles of timetabling and analyses typical curriculum models used in schools.

Participants will develop their knowledge base and enhance their skills in describing and analysing a school’s curriculum to develop and manage a successful school timetable eventually. While no computers or software are used in the course, it covers the essential skills and knowledge required for the three-day timetabling course. However, it is not a pre-requisite for the three-day timetabling course.
